Blogtember

Blogtember.. it's the cool thing going on this month in the blogger world.

It tells you what to write about each day! Just what I need when I'm drowning in homework, because not blogging isn't an option. Obviously.
So today's topic: If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do?

There's only one logical answer to this question.

I would be Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' photographer.
Source
I would be able to travel, meet great people, and spend some quality time with my future hubby.
My life would be at an all time high!
What would you guys do?!

We're supposed to be Boys

Hello! I'm alive and currently kicking college in the butt. Granted, it's only the 4th day of school - but still!

I have a story for you peeps today about how my lady friends and I spent last night.

It was one of our best friends birthdays so we obvi had to take her out for a birthday dinner.

Thinking we're all sexy and capable of being ladies, we all dress up in cute summer dresses and some of us in heels.

The night starts out well. We arrive at the restaurant safely and just in time for our reservation.

Then comes the moment where the girls who wore heels have to actually walk.

Within seconds of hopping out of the car, one of our lady friends loses control of the gorgeous wedges she's wearing and ends up falling into a puddle. A mud puddle.

We of course laugh until we can't breathe and then proceed with dinner.

Then another one of our friends gets up from the table to head to the bathroom. Seconds after leaving the booth, her heels cause her to fall into a table and turn her ankle in 10 different ways.

My lady friends and I can look hot - but we can't work heels.

Thank goodness I decided to opt for flats.

Lesson learned: We were supposed to be boys.

Time To Get Smart

Blogger people! I have missed you!

Bittersweet news for you today. I'm out of Seattle and back in college in good ol' Montana!

Wow, did I miss my friends! It's been awesome reuniting with them.

But school has started.

Not ok.

I will try not to be a lame blogger and post some good material on this handy dandy blog of mine as much as I can!

And this might just be the lamest post I've ever written.

My bad.

Here's to the first day of school!

So Long, Seattle

Seattle, thanks for welcoming me with open arms this summer.

Sadly, my time with you has come to an end and it's time to get back to college!
You have taught this small town girl some life-long lessons that she'll never forget.

1) It's possible to live off oatmeal, almonds, skinny vanilla latte's from Starbucks, fruit, and water.
Sometimes cooking is too much work. That's why I refused to do it. For weeks.

2) CrossFit is THE. BOMB.

3) Mt. Rainier is a distraction while driving. No matter how beautiful it is keep your eyes on the road, folks

4) Being alone is freakin' awesome. During college I was constantly surrounded by people. When I first moved to Seattle and realized my sister had a busy life, I freaked. It definitely took me a long while to realize that I was going to be just fine by myself.

5) Anthropologie candles can make any room smell like heaven.

6) Don't you dare hop into your vehicle and head onto I-5 between 7:30am-9:30am and 3pm-7pm. Unless you, of course, want to be sitting in your little car for a few hours only to drive 5 miles.

7) If you want some free junk, just drive around. You're guaranteed to find many free items. This is how my sister furnished her entire apartment for only $30.

8) Seattle is very pretty. You're surrounded by the mountains, water, and a beautiful city. But, Iowa is still prettier :)

9) You better be a pro at parallel parking. If not, you can just walk 2 miles to your destination.
You better believe I took the walking route.

10) When you're turning, you have to yield to pedestrians. Have I mentioned how many times I've forgotten to do this?

and lastly, "It's not where you are, but who you're with that really matters."
I didn't think living somewhere where I only knew one person was going to be a big deal.
I thought to myself, I'll be fine. I'll be in a gorgeous city!
I was so wrong. It quickly became evident how much my family and friends mean to me.
Nonetheless, I wouldn't give up this past summer for anything.
I have learned countless lessons that I will use for the rest of my life.

So long, Seattle!

Who Wants to See A Beached Whale?!

The hike to Third Beach was filled with gorgeous wildlife. Cow slugs, ginormous trees, banana cow slugs, moss, and more slugs! I thought our animal sightseeing was finished once we approached the beach but I was very wrong. The beach welcomed us with one giant, smelly and rotten whale. Nonetheless, Third Beach was SO pretty!!
This is what you call a Cow Slug
There she is. The beautiful whale
The view on the way home was absolutely GORGEOUS!
The sun would come out right as we're leaving

Second Beach - Forks, WA

Second Beach, in my opinion was the most stunning. Although, Third Beach did have a beached whale, so It was a close call.

It's final, I'm going to live my adult life next to the ocean.

Forks, WA and Friday Funny

Happy Friday, bloggy friends!
My sister and I took a day trip to Forks, WA yesterday. You know, the place where the good ol' Twilight movies were filmed!

We stopped by the Cullen house, the high school, and Bella's house.
I was really looking forward to seeing the fam - maybe next time

After having some tea with Bella and her dad we headed to the beaches! We stopped at First Beach, Second Beach, and Third Beach. Great names, huh?

I'll just share pictures from first beach today because I know you're dying to watch today's Friday Funny!

Second and Third Beach were even better so stay tuned!

Finally! Today's Friday Funny! You just gotta love the SunDrop commercials!

Adios!!

Music Memories

There are many times when I'm driving in the car or chillin at home and I hear a song that automatically brings back an awesome memory. I love when this happens so I decided to compose a post of some of these songs that send me to the past!
First up: Firework by Katy Perry. My best friend Jaz and I absolutely LOVE this song and have no shame of singing it at the top of our lungs. We can hit every single note. Not.

Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band brings me back to one successful night at the lakes.
A group of us hopped in the Steamin' Stallion (the greatest van EVER), blared this song over the speakers, and took a night trip to the Ocheyedan Mound.  We couldn't help it - we obviously had to have a photoshoot.
Posing by the Steamin' Stallion
That's Iowa for ya

Love the Way You Lie by Eminem and Rhianna brings back memories from the summer before my junior year of HS. My best friend Mag and I would arrive early to XC summer running and work on memorizing every word to this song. By the end of the summer we were both better rappers than Eminem himself.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell was my go to song as a child. You could often find me dancing on my bed with a hairbrush in my hand jammin' to this gem.

Could it Be You (Punk Rock Chick) by HWood brings me back to my favorite year of dance team.
We performed the sweetest dance to this song and completely owned it at State Dance!

Smoke A Little Smoke by Erich Church reminds me of days spent boating at the wonderful lakes

Big Booty by Ca$h Out. Yes, a bit inappropriate. But, this song was constantly playing throughout my freshman year of college. So many good memories were made while listening to this gooden.

That's all for now! What are some songs you have memories to?

Dude, You're Awesome

I have always thought Ashton Kutcher was a pretty cool guy. And then I watched the speech he gave at this years Teen Choice Awards. He's probably the awesomest, sexiest, and smartest man on this earth. Along with the One Direction boys and Macklemore, of course :)

But really, this speech is quite amazing. Watch it, right now!

1) Opportunity:
"Opportunities look a lot like work" I have never looked at my jobs this way. I have always looked at them as something I had to do. While I didn't love my job as a CNA and some days I dread volunteering with a Child Life Specialist, I know that both of these jobs are an opportunity for me to be something greater.

2) Being sexy:
Can I get an amen on this one?! I have nothing to say. He nailed it. On another note...Anybody else think it's ironic that Zayn's face from One Direction popped up on the screen right before he brought up being sexy?

3) Living life:
The world is an interesting place filled with social "do's" and "don'ts." And from these comes judgement when someone decides to "do" the "don't." Judging someone for living their life the way they want to I feel is wrong. Build your life the way you want to. Don't listen to the people who judge you. "Build a life. Don't live one."

What did you love most about this video?
