Let me just tell you all about my super lame but extremely laid back night.
So, I had been lounging around all day reading my Kindle and watching Hulu because I couldn't remember my sister's netflix password. And neither could she. #firstworldprobs. It was painful, but Hulu wasn't as bad as I pegged it to be. Anyway, after reading off my Kindle the majority of the day, I was craving an actual book. A book where I had to physically turn the pages. The only solution to this craving was taking a visit to Barnes & Noble.
Instead of waiting until after rush hour like any normal person would do, I left for my crazy night out at 5pm. I should have guessed this Barnes & Noble was going to be in the heart of the city, but I, once again, believed that it wouldn't be hard to drive to and that I wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg for parking.
After an hour of reckless driving (note: don't ever drive in traffic when craving a hardcover/paperback book) in the worst traffic ever, I arrived at one ginormous parking garage.
I found a decent size parking spot and was getting so pumped to step into that Barnes & Noble. But the parking garage just happened to be a little to big for me to handle and I couldn't find my dang way out of it!!
After struggling for literally 15 minutes in this creepy parking garage, I found a stairway and decided to ascend it. I opened the rusty 500 million pound door and there it was. My long lost love. Barnes & Noble.
I spent the next 2 hours perusing the shelves and taking in the feel of actual books. I know, I'm lame. You'd understand if you had a Kindle. Well, at least I hope you'd understand.
After making up my mind on which book I wanted, I ordered myself a tea and sat myself in the middle of the store to read 3/4 of the book I had just bought. The book is called "Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander. It is freaking unbelievable! I'll do a book review once I'm finished.
Not only did I discover one of the best books EVER, but I also realized that I'm a 52 year old woman stuck in a 19 year old body.
And I'm totally ok with that.
Have any of you ever read "Proof of Heaven?"
Any Kindle users out there also have cravings for actual books?
I saw the author of the book on Dr. Phil or something and added it to my to-read list! Now I can't wait to read it. I have just enough hardback books on my shelf to keep me satisfied if I ever want to put my Kindle down. I totally understand where you're coming from!
